
Six Blue Demons Earn BIG EAST Scholar-Athlete Sport Excellence Awards

DePaul leads all BIG EAST institutions in total number of awards
CHICAGO – A total of six DePaul student-athletes were named winners of a BIG EAST Scholar-Athlete Sport Excellence Award as announced by the conference office. DePaul's Franny Cerny, Noah Deck, Kyle Decker, Martè Grays, Morgan Greenwood, and Caroline Kurdej were selected for the awards which recognize academic and athletic achievement as well as community service.
The Scholar-Athlete Sport Excellence Awards are given to one student-athlete in each BIG EAST-sponsored sport based on academic credentials, athletic accolades or performances and volunteer service to the community. Student-athletes who have attained junior academic standing and a minimum cumulative grade-point average of 3.00 are eligible. The winners are chosen by the BIG EAST Faculty Athletics Representative Council.
DePaul's six honorees lead the BIG EAST as Seton Hall tallied four winners while Marquette and Xavier each registered three recognized student-athletes.
