The annual event saw second-largest presale and nearly 100 attendees at the rescheduled event
CHICAGO – Nearly 100 D-Club members, Blue Demon fans and friends gathered at Ruffled Feathers for a great day of golf at the 2019 D-Club Golf Outing. Noting its largest presale since the event began in 1944, the annual event benefits scholarship funds for DePaul student-athletes.
Â
Many of the golfers enjoyed the fun new activities around the course, including the Great DIBS Treasure Hunt and the Thomas Coffee Par Three Challenge where a hole-in-one earned the golfer prizes including a trip to the BIG EAST Men's Basketball Tournament at Madison Square Garden. Men's and women's basketball season tickets were also offered up as prizes to challenge winners.
Â
Taking first place in this year's outing with an impressive score of 23-under par was the foursome of Erik McLaughlin, Jake Wunderlin, Elijah Day and Brian Draeger. Following behind in second place was Danny Lewis, Alan Harper, Rob Younger and Cruz Nungaray.
Each year, Blue Demon athletics teams spend $5.2 million in scholarships for our 210 student-athletes. In order to compete in the BIG EAST Conference and nationally, funding of these scholarships is essential. D-Club Golf Outing proceeds directly impact scholarships for DePaul's student-athletes.
