Eriksson Earns Spot on #BIGEASTwsoc Honor Roll

CHICAGO - Goalkeeper Mollie Eriksson landed on the #BIGEASTwsoc Weekly Honor Roll, announced by the conference Monday, for her performance against two top-25 ranked teams in Kansas and South Carolina over the weekend at the Boilermaker Challenge Cup.Â
The sophomore earned the shutout against No. 11 Kansas, making three saves against the Jayhawks, who out-shot the Blue Demons 20-5. Despite a 1-0 setback against No. 7 South Carolina, Eriksson recorded four saves as the Gamecocks also out-shot DePaul, 16-2.Â
This is the second week in a row DePaul has been named in the weekly awards.Â

Skylar Heinrich, Creighton, Fr., F
The Omaha native led Creighton to a 2-0-0 week with five goals, including a pair of game-winners. Down 1-0 on Sunday versus Eastern Michigan, Heinrich entered the match in the 20th minute and was more than instant offense as the Bluejays scored on a corner to knot the match at 1-1. Over the next 16 minutes the Creighton forward tied a school record with four goals, including the game-winner in the 23rd minute. Her four tallies equaled the most goals scored in a single match in program history. The last time a Bluejay scored four goals in a match came in 2000. In addition Heinrich's efforts were Creighton's first hat trick since 2009 when Brittney Neumann scored three goals against South Dakota on Aug. 28. On Friday night, Heinrich delivered the decisive goal in the Bluejays' 1-0 over Iowa State in the 88th minute.

Grace Bahr, Xavier, Sr., M/D
Bahr anchored the Musketeers' defense in a pair of shutout victories last week. Xavier limited its opponents to just seven shots on goal last week, outshooting Kent State and Akron on the road by a 29-14 margin, including 13-7 on target.

Hensley Hancuff, Villanova, So., GK
Hancuff earned two shutout victories last week – a 1-0 clean sheet against Delaware on Thursday and 3-0 victory at Temple on Sunday. With five saves and zero goals allowed, the sophomore lowered her BIG EAST-leading statistics of goals against average (0.21) and save percentage (.933), while also topping the list in total shutouts (three). Hancuff has not allowed a goal in over 282 minutes.

BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll
Amanda Kowalski, Butler, RS-Jr., D
Kowalski had a standout week for Butler, helping anchor the Bulldogs' defense that shutout Michigan State 3-0, limiting the Spartans to six shots and only two on goal. Kowalski then recorded a three-point game in Butler's 3-2 loss to Milwaukee, netting her first goal of the season and chipping in an assist, as well.
Mollie Eriksson, DePaul, So., GK
Eriksson was impressive against a pair of highly ranked teams, earning the 1-0 shutout with three saves against No. 11 Kansas on Friday. She followed that with four saves in a narrow 1-0 setback to No. 7 South Carolina on Sunday. The win over 11th-ranked Kansas was the highest by a BIG EAST team since 2017.
Paula Germino-Watnick, Georgetown, Sr., F
Germino-Watnick led the 15th-ranked Hoyas to a 1-1 week, registering three shots at No. 5 Virginia on Thursday before going off with a goal and two assists in Sunday's win over Lafayette.
Shelby Hogan, Providence, R-Jr., GK
Hogan led the way in the Friars' 1-0 double-overtime win over UMass Lowell on Thursday, making six saves over 102+ minutes of work to earn the clean sheet.
Brice McInroy, Villanova, So., M
McInroy had two goals, including the game winner, at Temple on Sunday, leading the Wildcats to their second consecutive shutout victory. In the 2-0 week, the sophomore totaled four shots.
Samantha Dewey, Xavier, R-Sr., M
Dewey collected four points in Xavier's 2-0 weekend, picking up an assist on Sydney Schembri's game winner against Kent State, and an assist on Grace Brauer's game-winner against Akron. Dewey also added an insurance goal in 2-0 win against the Zips, her fifth goal of the season.
