Blue Demon Challenge Unlocks Classic Collection and the Return of Billy Blue Demon

Special-edition merchandise featuring iconic logo on sale at 8 a.m. Friday
CHICAGO – A challenge was issued and Blue Demon Nation answered as the Blue Demon Challenge goal of raising $3 million on Feb. 11 unlocked the release of the Classic Collection, an initial salute to DePaul's nostalgic and iconic Billy Blue Demon logo, beginning on February 12 at DePaul's online spirit shop.
Through the Blue Demon Challenge, DePaul was able to unlock scores of individual challenges and matches set out by alumni, donors and friends. Few challenges made a bigger impact on the historic day more than the challenge issued mid-day on Thursday by Director of Athletics DeWayne Peevy to unlock the Classic Collection.
"Billy Blue Demon made an impact on our donors' involvement in the Blue Demon Challenge," said Peevy. "Billy unlocked the passion and a spirit of generosity of our alumni and fans that contributed to the unprecedented $3 million raised during today's Blue Demon Challenge."
DePaul's Barnes & Noble Spirit Shop will unveil the Classic Collection on Friday, Feb. 12 beginning at 8 a.m. The Classic Collection will feature an initial offering of Billy Blue Demon items with plans for more pending the demand from Blue Demon Nation.
