DePaul Athletics to Host National Girls & Women in Sports Day Networking Social Feb. 4

Women in sports networking social to be hosted ahead of DePaul vs. UConn at Wintrust Arena
CHICAGO – DePaul Athletics is set to celebrate National Girls & Women in Sports Day with a networking social prior to the DePaul women's basketball matchup against No. 1 UConn on Wednesday, Feb. 4, at Wintrust Arena.
The National Girls & Women in Sports Day Networking Social will take place from 6–7 p.m. in the Blue Demon Club, bringing together women from across the sports industry for an evening focused on celebration, connection and empowerment.
"National Girls & Women in Sports Day is about celebrating the trailblazers who came before us while creating space and opportunity for the next generation," said DePaul Vice President and Director of Athletics DeWayne Peevy. "This networking social provides an opportunity to bring women together to connect, share experiences and continue building a stronger, more inclusive industry, starting right here on our campus and in the city of Chicago."
"National Girls & Women in Sports Day is a special opportunity to bring people together and celebrate the incredible women shaping our industry," said Kassidy Ellenby, DePaul Executive Associate Director of Athletics for Marketing and Communications. "We're proud to create a space for meaningful connections and conversations that extend beyond the game and strengthen our community."
Open to those working in or aspiring to careers in sports, the event will provide an opportunity to network with peers, share experiences and recognize the impact of women in athletics at all levels.
A valid game ticket for the DePaul vs. UConn women's basketball game is required for entry to the networking social. Tipoff is scheduled for 7 p.m.
National Girls & Women in Sports Day is recognized annually to honor the achievements of female athletes, coaches, administrators and leaders while inspiring the next generation of women in sports.
