Blue Demons Travel to Normal for Redbird Invite

DePaul to join 13 other regional teams for women's 6k, men's 8k
CHICAGO – The DePaul men's and women's cross country squads continue competition on Friday, Sept. 17 at the Redbird Invite in Normal, Ill.
The women's 6k race is scheduled for 5 p.m. CT while the men's 8k is slated for a 5:45 p.m. start from the Weibring Golf Club.

A plethora of regional teams are set to run including Drake, Illinois, Loyola, Marquette, Northern Illinois, Northern Iowa, Northwestern, SEMO, Southern Illinois – Edwardsville, Southern Illinois, Southern Indiana, Valparaiso, and host Illinois State.
Last weekend, the Blue Demons took part in the Badger Classic in Madison, Wis. at the Zimmer Championship Course. Dominic Bruce led the men in the 6k race for the second consecutive weekend, finishing sixth with a time of 18:43.4. Shane Knanishu took eighth at 18:57.7.
On the women's side Olivia Borowiak led the charge with an eighth-place finish after crossing at 19:09.8. Junior transfer Nina Amicon finished 10th with a mark of 19:26.3.
Following Friday's race, the Blue Demons will take next weekend off and return to competition on Oct. 2 for the Live Lou Cross Country Classic in Louisville, Ky.
