Men take home 19th, Women claim 20th overall in Stillwater, Okla.

DePaul cross country completes their third competition at the Weis-Crockett Invitational
STILLWATER, Okla. – On Saturday morning, DePaul cross country competed in the Weis-Crockett Invitational for their third competition of the season hosted by Oklahoma State University. The men placed 19th overall in the 8k while the women placed 20th overall in the 6k.
"The field was similar to what we will experience at regionals in a month," said head coach Geoff Wayton. "We know that we are going to be much better in a month, so they weren't quite ready for that level of competition, but I think everybody got a lot out of this."
The men started off the day bright and early at the Greiner Family OSU Cross Country Course with an 8k race at 8:30 a.m. CT. The men placed 19th out of 26 teams. Shane Knanishu was the first Blue Demon to cross the finish line, placing 68th with a 24:45.7 time. Dominic Bruce followed in 89th place and Damian Rodriguez completed his race in 100th place.
Griffin Lehnhardt, Gavin Glaze, Charley Eagle, Tommy Elwood, and Joe Knanishu all completed their 8k races in under 26 minutes.
The women's team finished the 6K race in 20th place. Olivia Borowiak led the charge for the Blue Demons, finishing in 23rd with Nina Amicon behind her in 45th. Amicon and Borowiak were the top two women's finishers for DePaul.
Meaghan Andrews, Violet Harper, Meghan Dieball and Madison Volz rounded out the women's finishers at the meet. Alexa Havon did not finish.
"They ran safe races but in a competition like this you have to stick your nose in there and hang on. I think some athletes did that some others didn't but I think that everybody's leaving this meet having learned a lot about that level of competition so I'm happy about that."

The Blue Demons will head to Attleboro, Mass. for the BIG EAST Cross Country Championships on Saturday, Oct. 29.
