Karney Leads Blue Demons in Third Round at Zach Johnson Invitational

Karney finishes tied for 15th; Blue Demons finish 13th
West Des Moines, Iowa – The DePaul golf team wrapped up the third and final round of the Zach Johnson Invitational on Tuesday as Cameron Kearney turned in the best round of the day to lead the Blue Demons. DePaul finished 13th while Karney was the top individual in a tie for 15th place.
Karney fired a 70 (-1) in Tuesday's final 18 holes to finish the invitiational with a score of 217 (+4). Alex Vekich and Conor Glennon concluded play in a group tied for 54th with a three-round total of 231 (+18). Vekich went six-over (77) in the third round while Glennon shot a 78 (+7).
Aarjav Patel finished a stroke back from teammates Vekich and Glennon at +19 (232) after a round of 77 (+6) while Artemiy Yalovenko closed out play at Glen Oaks Country Club tied for 72nd at 235 (+22).
North Dakota State took the team title with a score of 840 (-12) while Valparaiso's Anthony Delisanti took medalist honors after firing a seven-under in the final round to wrap up the week with a score of 202 (-11).
DePaul will continue its fall slate October 10-11 at the Xavier Invitational at Maineville's TPC River Bend.
