More Records to Be Broken During 2023 Blue Demon Challenge

CHICAGO – Following a record-setting Blue Demon Challenge in 2021 and 2022, DePaul University and the athletic department look to aim even higher in 2023 as the University's annual day of giving is set for Wednesday, Jan. 25. This year's Blue Demon Challenge celebrates the 125th anniversary of DePaul University. The 24-hour fundraising event is an opportunity for alumni, parents, friends, students, faculty and staff to come together and give back.
"In 2021 and 2022, DePaul Athletics saw record fundraising years, thanks to the passion, commitment, and generosity of Blue Demons around the world," said Vice President and Director of Athletics DeWayne Peevy. "As a result of these funds, we have been able to begin executing our 5-Year Strategic Plan. Your contributions allow us to Dream Big about winning championships, attracting the best and brightest students, developing the leaders of tomorrow, raising the national prominence of the DePaul brand, and allowing each of our 15 sports programs to train and compete at the highest level. Please know that a Blue Demon Challenge gift to DePaul Athletics on January 25, celebrating the 125th anniversary of DePaul, will make an immediate impact on our department and allow us to continue our work to transform DePaul Athletics into the BIG EAST's premier athletics program."
The University's goal for the 2023 Challenge is to raise $7,000,000 in a single day. DePaul Athletics aims to make an impact on the University's total with its initial goal of raising $2 million from more than 3,000 donors.
DePaul Athletics has a history of using the Blue Demon Challenge to make an impact on its student-athletes, thanks to the generosity of alumni and donors. Last year, Athletics raised more than $3 million from over 2,500 donors, surpassing its $2 million goal.
Throughout the Blue Demon Challenge, various matches and challenges will be in place to unlock funds for the people, places and causes at DePaul you care about most. Make your gift and help make DePaul history!
