DePaul SAAC Partners with BIG EAST for Virtual Food Drive

The drive partners with You Give Goods

The DePaul University Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) has partnered with You Give Good, through the BIG EAST Conference for a virtual food drive this spring. Each BIG EAST institution selected a charity of their choice and all proceeds will be sent directly to the selected charity at the end of the service project.

DePaul's student-athletes selected The Basic Needs Hub as their chosen charity. The Basic Needs Hub is a DePaul University campus based initiative which looks to fulfil gaps in students lives, they may not be able to meet with traditional financial aid. At The Basic Needs Hub students can access things like career clothing, basic linens and food. Last year, the Hub served nearly 400 students and has since added a location on the Loop campus.

The virtual drive opened on the first day of the BIG EAST Women's Basketball Tournament and will run through April 3. At the end of the drive, You Give Good will distribute donations to each schools charity of choice.
