DePaul Closes its 2023 Dual Season in South Carolina
CAYCE – No. 5 DePaul men's tennis closes its 2023 dual season on Friday afternoon after falling to No. 4 Butler in the BIG EAST Championship Quarterfinals 4-1.Â
ÂThe Bulldogs jumped into action on the doubles courts and captured the first point of the competition after conquering duos Leon Huck/ Pablo Torres Almeida 4-6 and Elias Anwar/ Jona Gitschel 6-1.Â
ÂThe Blue Demons were determined to respond on the singles side but Butler continued their lead with a win on the No. 6 court. The Bulldogs managed to notch another singles win before Almeida responded with a 2-6, 6-4, 6-2 victory for DePaul at the No. 4 spot.Â
ÂAs the other Blue Demons continued to battle on, Butler earned their fourth and final point of the match with a win at the No. 1 singles spot after Krivokapic fell in a hard fought three sets.Â
ÂThe Blue Demons conclude their 2023 dual season with an 11-15Â record overall and a 2-4Â BIG EAST record.Â
