CHICAGO – DePaul Athletics announced today an expansion of its multiyear partnership with Teamworks, the leading technology provider for collegiate athletic departments. With the partnership first instituted in March 2021 and extended in 2023, Teamworks has centralized all student-athlete functions across all 15 sports programs—including rosters, communications, scheduling, travel, nutrition, and academic monitoring. This recent partnership expansion includes Teamwork AMS + EMR, a part of their Performance suite. Teamworks AMS+ EMR is designed to help practitioners, sports medicine, and sports performance professionals deliver seamlessly coordinated care to student-athletes with the goal of optimizing performance and reducing injury risk.
"Teamworks is thrilled to continue our partnership with DePaul University, providing best-in-class performance and medical solutions to their student-athletes. DePaul's unwavering commitment to enhance overall efficiency and elevate the student-athlete experience is unparalleled," says Kevin Barefoot, VP of Business Development.
As a part of this partnership expansion, DePaul will introduce a new electronic medical record (Teamworks EMR) system, led by DePaul's Sports Medicine staff. This system will allow practitioners to access richer, aggregated health data designed to provide a holistic view of athlete's recovery and return to play progression. It will further support the department in centralizing medical screenings, injury and illness reporting, and health insurance processing.
Additionally, the Blue Demons will launch an all-new performance and analytics platform (Teamworks AMS), led by DePaul's Sports Performance staff. The platform is currently utilized by national sporting federations, Olympic committees, many of the world's highest-profile sporting teams, military research and operational wings, and performing arts organizations.
"We're proud to continue to enhance our sports medicine and sports performance services here at DePaul to ensure Blue Demon athletes have access to industry-leading care and performance development insights," said Vice President and Director of Athletics DeWayne Peevy. "With this partnership expansion, DePaul will be among an elite class of institutions in the sports medicine and sports performance resources we are able to provide to athletes."
This partnership expansion aligns with DePaul Athletics' five-year strategic plan, which calls on the department to modernize and expand sports performance data technology, nutrition support technology, and electronic medical records systems to provide student-athletes with industry-leading sports science insights and medical care. It further aligns with the NCAA Transformation Committee's directive for advancing a holistic student-athlete support model.
