Lucchesi Breaks Program Record, Earns Top Three Finish

WEST DES MOINES, IOWA – Freshman Dominic Lucchesi golfed a program-best round of 54 over the last two days at the Zach Johnson Invitational. Lucchesi's 208 (-5) ranks as the best round of 54 for a DePaul golfer, in records dating back to 1998. The Grayslake, Ill. native took third place in the event overall, while helping DePaul to a fifth place team finish.
After posting two rounds yesterday under par, Lucchesi concluded competition with an even 71 today. Lucchesi as well as two other teammates, Rohan Gopaldas and Ryder Henares, all hit par in the final round of 18. Billy Gneiser had the team-best final round, putting in a 70 (-1) Tuesday after a tough first round Monday.
The Blue Demons next competition will take place Oct. 7 in New Buffalo, Mich. at the Dunes Club Invitational.
