Serbian prospect looks to make impact with reigning BIG EAST Champions
CHICAGO – DePaul men's tennis head coach Matt Brothers introduced freshman Marko Milosavljevic, Thursday afternoon. A promising talent with an impressive resume, the Serbian arrives in Lincoln Park by way of Harare, Zimbabwe. Milosavljevic joins the three-time BIG EAST Champion 'Band of Brothers' with aspirations of making an immediate impact on the court.
"Marko is a great guy," said head coach Matt Brothers. "He's been with us for just under two weeks, but he's fitting in very well with the team. Like many of our guys, he wants to pursue a pro career, and college tennis is a perfect pathway for him, as it was for [Blue Demon alum] Vito Tonejc before him."
Milosavljevic carries a professional record of 13-12, which includes ITF and ATP results. He achieved a career-high ITF Men's Singles Ranking of No. 1122 in November 2024 and held the No. 219 ITF Junior Ranking in March 2024. He was an eight-time junior ITF singles and doubles champion, with victories in Bulawayo and Harare, Zimbabwe; Gaborone, Botswana; and Nairobi, Kenya.
"Marko has been playing professionally for the better part of a year and has had some amazing results," Brothers added. "The discipline and independence that he's going to gain from combining academics with athletics is going to be really good for his development. We're excited to get to know him better as he works to pursue his goals."
