Golf Concludes Action at BIG EAST Match Play

WEST PALM BEACH, FLA. – DePaul men's golf opened up the 2025 calendar year with action in West Palm Beach, Fla. for BIG EAST Match Play. The Blue Demons finished the third round on Tuesday with a tiebreaker win against Villanova, concluding the event 0-2-1.
Ryder Henares finished the event 2-1, with wins in round two and three against his opponent's Brock Kuhlman (Creighton) and Jackon Lehner (Villanova). In his second round on Monday, Henares tallied four birdies and an eagle on the 12th hole. Henares golfed a full 18 in the second round, registering a 71 (-1).
Dominic Lucchesi went 1-1 in the two-day event, picking up an individual win Tuesday over Villanova's Ryan Pamer. He had four birdies in the round, tapping out the victory by two strokes.
Hank Schaefer recorded another individual win, ending the event with a 1-2 record. Schaefer's win came Tuesday as he completed his only full round of the event to defeat Villanova's Nathan Marion with a full score of 74 (+2).
Rohan Gopaldas completed all three rounds for DePaul with a 0-3 record, narrowly dropping his first and second rounds each by a stroke. He finished two full 18 holes in the second and third rounds, scoring 72 (E) and 73 (+1)
Alex Vekich ended his tournament 0-2-1 after picking up a tie on Tuesday against Villanova's Joshua Lavely. Vekich completed a full 18 holes with a score of 79 (+7). Pablo Riviero and Billy Gneiser also both competed all three rounds for DePaul, finishing with 0-2-1 and 0-3-0 records.
