Gitschel, Milosavljevic Earn BIG EAST Doubles Recognition

Jona Gitschel and Marko Milosavljevic selected Doubles Team of the Week
CHICAGO – DePaul men's tennis' Jona Gitschel and Marko Milosavljevic earned BIG EAST Men's Doubles Team of the Week honors after an undefeated weekend of action, the conference announced Tuesday morning.
The pairing, a combination of veteran experience and emerging talent, went a perfect 2-0 in doubles action March 8-9 during the Blue Demons' road trip to Charlotte, N.C. The duo, playing together for the first time this season, previously combined for six doubles victories prior to teaming up.
In DePaul's March 8 match against Davidson, Gitschel and Milosavljevic defeated Juan Camilo Perez and Davide Procacci, 6-2, before Thomas Giles and Elias Anwar clinched the doubles point. The Blue Demons went on to defeat the Wildcats, 6-1.
Although DePaul fell to UNC Charlotte on Sunday, Gitschel and Milosavljevic continued their dominance at No. 2 doubles, securing a 6-3 victory that led to the Blue Demons' second consecutive doubles point in North Carolina.
The recognition marks Gitschel's fifth career BIG EAST Doubles Team of the Week honor and his second this season, with his first coming on Feb. 3 alongside Tobias Leitner. Milosavljevic secured his first career BIG EAST weekly award with Tuesday's announcement.
