Blue Demons Finish Second as Lucchesi Fires Program Record

Lucchessi finishes second with three-round score of 207
INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. - Dominic Luchessi shot a 54-hole program-best 207 at the Don Benbow Invitational as competition at Highland Golf Country Club wrapped up Tuesday afternoon. Luchessi broke his own program record, which he set at the Zach Johnson Invitational last fall, to finish tied for second at the 13-team event. The Blue Demons shot a season low 840 through 54 holes to finish second.
Senior Pablo Riveiro finished the outing tied for ninth with a score of 209 (-1) while Rohan Gopaldes was right behind, shooting even par (210) for the tournament and finishing tied for 12th. Ryder Henares was the final scorer for the Blue Demons as he tied for 21st, shooting a 214 (+4).
Alex Vekich posted a 226 (+13) over the three rounds to finish 72nd. Hank Schaefer recorded a top-30 finish as an individual, shooting a 215 (+5). Billy Gneiser was the final Blue Demon to play in day two, finishing with a combined score of 222 (+12).
The Blue Demons will return to Indiana for the Hoosier Collegiate Invite April 5-6.
