CHICAGO – DePaul women's basketball bolstered its back court Monday morning with the addition of sophomore transfer Devin Hagemann. A 5-6 point guard, Hagemann is the second signing for Jill M. Pizzotti in this cycle. Hagemann has three seasons of eligibility remaining.
Â
"We are very excited about what Devin will bring to our DePaul program," Pizzotti said. "We recruited her out of high school and are very familiar with the success of her AAU program in Michigan Crossover and as well as her high school team, Detroit Edison. Devin is a true point guard who we know will thrive in our style of play. She loves to share the basketball but also has the ability to score at the rim and from behind the arc."
Â
In her freshman season at East Carolina, Hagemann appeared in 32 games and made 19 starts while averaging 23.3 minutes per game. She posted 5.5 points and a team-best 2.3 assists per contest. Hagemann recorded a career-best 21 points on 4-for-7 shooting from three to go with three assists against Tulane on January 11. The Detroit, Mich. native was named to the American Athletic Conference All-Freshman Team and was honored Freshman of the Week on three occasions.
Â
"I chose DePaul because Coach Jill has believed in me since middle school," Hagemann said. "It's rare to find a coach who truly invests in you as a person, not just a player. Her constant support motivates me to give my all and reach my potential. I love city life, being closer to my family, and I'm excited to help bring DePaul Women's Basketball back to where it belongs all while building strong bonds and stacking up a lot of wins with my teammates."
Â
Hagemann helped Detroit Edison High School to a 105-11 record in four seasons while claiming a pair of state titles in 2022 and 2024.
Â
In the classroom, Hagemann plans to study communications and minor in psychology.
