DePaul women's basketball added depth to the frontcourt on Tuesday afternoon as head coach Jill M. Pizzotti announced the signing of Faith Okorie. The Chicago native returns home after spending a pair of seasons at George Mason.
Â
"Faith gives us a much-needed presence at the forward position. She's a local product, and we're proud to bring Chicago kids back to the city," Pizzotti said. "Coming from the nationally prominent Example Academy, Faith has been well prepared for the next level. She embraces the traditional back-to-the-basket game, but she's also eager to grow and expand her skillset. We're excited about her potential and will look to her to anchor the post position for many years to come."
Â
After sitting out her freshman campaign due to injury, Okorie appeared in 18 games and averaged 3.8 minutes in the 2024-25 season helping the Patriots to their first Atlantic 10 Championship and a berth to the NCAA Tournament.
Â
"I chose DePaul because I believe it's the best place to help me build my future, both in athletics and academically. DePaul offers all the resources I need to stay on track for life after college and to prepare for the career fields I'm passionate about," said Okorie. "From the start, the coaching staff and campus community were incredibly welcoming, and that meant a lot to me. I'm excited to grow as a young adult, push myself on the court, and take on new challenges in the classroom."
Â
In her prep career, Okorie helped Example Academy to a pair of Independent High School Championships. She was a McDonalds All-America nominee in 2023 and also selected to participate in Steph Curry's Underrated Tour.
Â
Okorie plans to pursue a degree in Health Sciences with a concentration in public health.Â
