The team defeated Canada 3-0 to win the 2025 NORCECA Women's U23 Pan American Cup
León, Mexico – DePaul head coach Marie Zidek led the USA Volleyball Under-23 Women's National Team to gold at the 2025 NORCECA U23 Pan American Cup. The squad, comprised of current collegiate student-athletes and Pro Volleyball Federation players, defeated Canada 3-0 Friday evening to win the tournament.
Assisted by former Olympians Kayla Banwarth and Danielle Scott, Zidek led the squad through training and five matches while in Mexico.
After breezing through group play without dropping a set, the United States tackled their toughest test yet in the tournament semifinals, facing Mexico on their home soil. Despite losing the opening set, the U.S. would go on to win, 3-2, led by 20 kills from outside hitter Eva Hudson and ten blocks from Ifenna Cos-Okpalla.
In the final match, the United States once again demonstrated dominance, posting a 10-0 run in the first set to set the tone. Raven Colvin led the way with 11 points on ten kills and two blocks, while Chloe Chicoine and Hudson followed closely behind with ten points apiece. In the third and final set, Canada battled to come within two points late, but a 4-0 run sealed the U.S. victory.
Zidek has been involved with USA Volleyball and its National Team Development Program (NTDP) for more than a decade, most recently leading the U17 NTDP as head coach in December 2024.
