DePaul University to Host Annual Traditions Tailgate on Sept. 10

CHICAGO — DePaul Athletics kicks off the 2025-26 school year with its annual Traditions Tailgate, taking place on Wednesday, Sept. 10 at Wish Field. The event is open to all DePaul students and is designed to celebrate Blue Demon pride while fostering connections between the student body and DePaul Athletics. This event is free and open exclusively to current DePaul University students. No registration is required.

Gates for the event will open at 5 p.m. off Belden Avenue, welcoming students to an evening of school spirit, entertainment and community. At 6 p.m., a selection of local food trucks will begin serving under the L tracks under the field.

Attendees will enjoy:

A free DePaul t-shirt (while supplies last)
Live music from a DJ
Complimentary food from participating food trucks
A meet-and-greet opportunity with DePaul Athletics coaches and student-athletes

"Traditions Tailgate is one of our favorite ways to welcome students back to campus and build excitement for the upcoming athletic year," said Vice President and Director of Athletics DeWayne Peevy. "It's a celebration of our student body, our teams, and the strong sense of community that defines DePaul."
