Three DePaul Teams Earn BIG EAST Team Academic Excellence Awards

NEW YORK – Three DePaul Athletics teams earned the BIG EAST Team Academic Excellence Awards, as announced by the conference office Thursday morning. The team academic excellence awards are given each year to the team with the highest collective grade-point average throughout the 2024-25 academic year.
DePaul women's cross country, women's soccer and softball all earned the award this season. It marks the third-straight season women's soccer has won the accolade and the first for softball since 2022.
This adds to the latest academic success for the Blue Demons behind a record-breaking 3.608 department cumulative grade-point average for 2024-25. It marked the first time in recorded history that the department surpassed a 3.6 GPA, as all 15 programs achieved above a 3.0. Nearly 90 percent of DePaul student-athletes earned a GPA above a 3.0, with 73 percent achieving a 3.5 or higher.
