DePaul Cheerleading will be hosting fall tryouts for the 2025-2026 team.
The tryouts will be held Saturday, Sept. 13, at McGrath-Phillips Arena (2323 N Sheffield Ave).
Check-in will begin at 5:30 PM, with the tryouts scheduled for 6-9 PM. The coaching staff will provide a program overview, in addition to judging sections on the following skills:
Game Day Cheer and Motion Technique: Looking for sharp motions, attention to detail, vocals and energy.
Tumbling: Standing tumbling (back handspring/back tuck), Running Tumbling (layouts, fulls, specialty passes). Do your strongest pass, with a minimum of a round-off back handspring.
Jumps: Toe touch, front hurdler, Combination jump (three in a row, ex. right hurdler, toe touch, left hurdler)
Stunting: Basic knowledge and skill is wanted, but we also look for potential to teach. All intermediate skills should be known.
Please note, it will hold weight if there is one category that you are not strong in, but you are strong in others. We look for potential and ability to learn.
What to Wear:
Please wear all black, form-fitting clothing with either cheer shoes or clean gym shoes. Your hair should be slicked back into a ponytail, with or without a bow.
Questions:
Please do not hesitate to contact Spirit Director Shanon Lersch at slersch@depaul.edu for more information.
