Gneiser Posts Season Best Round in Day 1 at Torrey Pines

Blue Demons sit in fourth through first round
LA JOLLA, CALIF. – Senior Billy Gneiser posted a season-best round of 18 Sunday in the first round at the UC San Diego Invitational, hosted at Torrey Pines Golf Course. Gneiser recorded a 70 (-2), to help DePaul to a 287 (-1) as a team, marking the Blue Demons second lowest team round of 18 this season. DePaul sits in a tie for 4th in the 17-team field.
Gneiser sits in seventh place overall followed by teammates Dominic Lucchesi and North Chery in a tie for 17th after shooting even par, 72. Rohan Gopaldas shot a 73 (+1) to sit in 34th and round out the counters for round one, while Sam Mortell ended the day 82 (+10).
Round two is set for Monday, March 23.
