Chery and Lucchesi Shine on Day Two, Blue Demons Remain Steady

LA JOLLA, CALIF. – A pair of underclassmen, North Chery and Dominic Lucchesi, shined for DePaul golf on day two at the UC San Diego Invitational, hosted at Torrey Pines Golf Course.
Chery recorded a 70 (-2) on the day while Lucchesi posted a 71 (-1) in Monday's second round. As a team, DePaul sits in sixth place overall.
With a two-round total of 142 (-2), Chery is tied for 10th place, moving up seven spots from Sunday's opening round. Lucchesi joins his teammate in the top 20, tied for 18th with a score of 143 (-1).
Sam Mortell bounced back after a tough first round, carding a 73 (+1) on Monday.
Behind a strong opening round, Billy Gneiser is tied for 33rd overall with a 145 (+1), while Rohan Gopaldas rounds out the lineup with a 149 (+5).
DePaul and the 16 other teams in the field conclude play Tuesday with the final round.
