Men’s Tennis Earns No. 2 Seed at BIG EAST Championships

DePaul takes on Marquette to open conference tournament
CHICAGO – DePaul men's tennis secured the No. 2 seed in the 2026 BIG EAST Tennis Championships and will open play against No. 7 Marquette on Friday, April 17 at 8 a.m. CT. The tournament will be held at the Cayce Tennis & Fitness Center in Cayce, S.C.
The Blue Demons closed the regular season with a 9-12 overall record, highlighted by a perfect 6-0 mark in BIG EAST play and a 6-2 record at home. DePaul capped the regular season in dominant fashion, sweeping Creighton 7-0 on Senior Day to secure the program's first undefeated conference campaign since 2022 and the most BIG EAST wins in a single season in program history.
The 2026 campaign has been one of the most successful in recent memory. DePaul's unbeaten league run marks a return to the top of the conference, as the Blue Demons look to capture their fourth BIG EAST title in the last six seasons (2021, 2022, 2024).
Cayce Tennis & Fitness Center
The 2026 BIG EAST Tennis Championships return to the Cayce Tennis & Fitness Center from April 16-19, with Monday, April 20 serving as a potential rain date if necessary. The championship will be held at the site for the 10th consecutive year. The facility features 30 lighted world-class courts, including a championship-sized stadium court with seating for approximately 500 spectators, as well as a central gazebo, iced water coolers, and electrical outlets on every court for ball-machine use.
Tournament Seeding
Seeds for the championships were determined by a committee that evaluated each team's regular-season schedule, ITA rankings, results against BIG EAST opponents, performance versus common non-conference foes, and records against ranked competition.
