Strong Second Round Propels Blue Demons at Hawkeye Invitational

RIVERSIDE, IOWA - A strong second round propelled DePaul men's golf to a tie for third place following the first day at the Hawkeye Invitational, Monday. The Blue Demons carded a 284 (-4) in the second round, with three athletes finishing at or under par, highlighted by a 68 (-4) from North Chery and a 69 (-3) from Dominic Lucchesi.

Lucchesi sits third overall with a two-round total of 140 (-4), while teammate Rohan Gopaldas is tied for ninth after carding 144 (E), giving DePaul a pair of golfers in the top 10. Chery's stellar second round paired with his opening 77 for a 145 (+1) total, placing him tied for 15th.

Matthew Rastogi and Billy Gneiser rounded out DePaul's team competitors, both recording 154 (+10). Sam Mortell, competing as an individual, is also tied for 60th with a 154 (+10).
