Lucchesi Wins BIG EAST Golfer of the Week

Lucchesi set program record with nine-under par performance
NEW YORK – DePaul golf sophomore Dominic Lucchesi earned BIG EAST Golfer of the Week honors, as announced Thursday by the league office. Lucchesi receives the honor following a career performance at the Hawkeye Invitational earlier this week, where he finished second overall with a 207 (-9). His nine-under-par showing set a new program record for strokes under par in a 54-hole event.
Lucchesi finished one shot off the lead, closing the tournament with a final-round 5-under 67, tying his personal-best 18-hole score. He helped lead DePaul to a third-place team finish.
Earlier this season, North Chery earned Golfer of the Week honors on Feb. 20. With Lucchesi's selection, DePaul has had multiple golfers earn the weekly award in the same season for the first time since 2016.
It marks the second Golfer of the Week honor for Lucchesi, who also earned the distinction during his freshman season.
