Men’s Tennis Trio Earns Academic All-District Honors

Torres Almeida, Medica and Moser recognized for work on court and in the classroom
CHICAGO – Pablo Torres Almeida, Sebastian Medica and Sven Moser each earned College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-District recognition for their performance in the classroom and on the court. Moser earned CSC Academic All-District honors for the third time in his career, while Torres Almeida collected his second career selection. Medica received the honor for the first time in his debut season with the Blue Demons.
Eligible nominees must compete in at least 75 percent of an institution's contests while maintaining a cumulative grade point average of 3.5 or higher.
Torres Almeida closed his senior season with a 9-12 record in dual singles action, including six victories at the No. 3 position. The Gran Canaria, Spain native also added six doubles wins, four of which came at the No. 1 spot. A 2024 All-BIG EAST First Team selection and member of the 2023-24 BIG EAST All-Academic Team, Torres Almeida is set to graduate from DePaul next month with a degree in Entrepreneurship.
Medica made an immediate impact in his first season with the Blue Demons, posting a 15-6 dual singles record. The San Luis Potosi, Mexico native went 9-2 across the top three singles courts, highlighted by seven wins at No. 2. In doubles, Medica added 10 victories, including eight at the No. 2 position. A unanimous All-BIG EAST First Team honoree, Medica is majoring in Marketing.
Moser continued to serve as a steady presence for DePaul, finishing the dual season with a 9-5 singles record and a 4-2 mark at No. 5. The Bern, Switzerland native also collected seven doubles victories, with six coming at the No. 3 position. A graduate student, Moser earned his degree in Psychology and is now a three-time CSC Academic All-District selection, three-time BIG EAST All-Academic Team honoree and three-time BIG EAST Doubles Team of the Week recipient.
