CHICAGO – DePaul Athletics Fund, the fundraising and advancement arm of DePaul Athletics, has concluded record-setting year during 2025-26, raising more than $15.6 million – an all-time high for the department.
"Successful men's and women's basketball programs have the power to elevate DePaul's visibility on a national scale, strengthen alumni pride and create new pathways for engagement across the university community," said Senior Vice President and Director of Athletics DeWayne Peevy. "Athletics is a front porch that invites interaction and support for our entire DePaul University family, and we are grateful and proud to serve as that catalyst."
The 2025-26 fundraising mark was highlighted by a record 2,594 unique donors – and is headlined by the fundraising efforts for a new, state-of-the-art athletics practice facility – the centerpiece of DePaul Athletics' DREAM BIG Strategic Plan. The facility, now under construction on DePaul's Lincoln Park campus, will provide DePaul men's and women's basketball teams with a space to practice and train. The first floor of the facility will be dedicated to the health and wellness for all 235+ DePaul student-athletes. The facility will also feature a broadcast production studio, allowing for the development of new interdisciplinary partnerships with academic units across the university. This project follows renovations completed in 2024 to the Sullivan Athletic Center and McGrath-Phillips Arena, located across Sheffield Ave. from the practice facility.
Fundraising efforts have continued around support of all 15 DePaul athletics programs, in an effort to provide championship-level experiences for each student-athlete. Additional fundraising dollars have gone toward sport gift funds – contributing toward athlete scholarships and team travel.
ABOUT DEPAUL ATHLETICS
DePaul's 15 intercollegiate athletic teams compete in the NCAA Division I, BIG EAST Conference. DePaul University began sponsoring athletics teams in the early 1900s, with intercollegiate athletics coming to fruition in the 1920s. Through a bold new vision for the future, DePaul Athletics looks to become the premier program in the BIG EAST Conference through a focus on winning championships with integrity, building champion students through education and intentional development, and serving as a visible ambassador for DePaul University and the Chicago community. DePaul Athletics has a storied tradition and is uniquely positioned to support the university's mission and commitment to academic excellence, real-world experience, community engagement, and systemic change. Further, the department is steadfast in its commitment to grow the university's national exposure and enrollment.
