Golf Has Strong Day One to Open 2026-27 Season

JUPITER, FLA. – DePaul had a strong first day at the Florida Atlantic Invitational Monday to kick off its 2026-27 season, highlighted by a team round five under par to end the day. The Blue Demons team score of 572 (-4) places them in sixth overall, which included a six-stroke improvement in the days second round. DePaul's 283 in the second round ranks inside the Blue Demons top-15 team round of 18 scores.
Freshman Frederik Richardson impressed in his collegiate debut with a team-best 139 (-5), including a 69 (-3) in his second round. Richardson sits in a tie for sixth place overall, five strokes out of the lead. Rizq Adam Rohizam also had a stellar outing, ending his day four under par with a pair of rounds at 70 (-2), to sit in the top-15 overall.
Rohan Gopaldas recorded a 70 (-2) in his second round for a 143 (-1) on the day and a T24th place standing, heading into the clubhouse. Another pair of Blue Demons made their collegiate debuts Monday with Finlay Eager and Hunter Simmons. Eager recorded a 150 (+6), followed by Simmons 164 (+20).
The final round at the FAU Invitational will tee off Tuesday morning at 7:30 a.m. CT. Following the Florida Atlantic Invitational, DePaul will continue their season at the Purdue Fall Invitational, scheduled for October 12-13 in West Lafayette, Ind.
