- Ranked No. 97 in the nation in the preseason by the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA)
- Went on to defeat two nationally ranked opponents in singles and two in doubles (with Marino Jakic)
- Fired off a 10-match winning streak that brought his singles record to 18-6 during the dual-match season
- Had another stretch where he won seven of eight matches near the end of the regular season
- Finished 20-3 in the dual season playing every match at the difficult No. 1 position
- Was 7-0 against BIG EAST competition including the postseason.
2020-21 (Junior) - Singles: 13-5 | Doubles: 10-6
- Came through with biggest singles win of the season defeating Djuro Opacic of St. John's 6-0, 6-1 in No. 1 singles to help lead DePaul to its first-ever BIG EAST title and automatic berth in the NCAA tournament... defeated Butler's No. 1 singles player in BIG EAST semifinal victory
- Teamed with Luuk Wassenaar to knock off Illinois' No. 2 doubles team in the NCAA opener
- Biggest regular-season singles win was upset of Vanderbilt's nationally ranked No. 1 player George Harwell
- Notched the match-winning point against Illinois-Chicago, Butler in the conference semifinals and in the 4-2 victory over nationally ranked Northern Illinois
- Retained sophomore standing in tennis when the NCAA issued a blanket waiver after the 2019-20 pandemic season.
2019-20 (Sophomore) - Singles: 6-8 | Doubles: 9-2
- Sat out the fall tournament portion of the schedule with an injury
- Scored the winning point in 4-1 win over host Texas A&M Corpus Christi in DePaul's 4-1 triumph at the HEB Tournament of Champions
- Texas A&M Corpus Christi had come into the match with a 12-3 record after defeating New Mexico State and Eastern Washington
- Scored the clinching point with his singles win in 4-3 victory over Illinois State
- Teamed with older brother Fran Tonejc in winning doubles match vs. No. 7 Columbia in helping the Blue Demons secure the doubles point
- Fran and Vito finished the COVID-19 shortened season winning their final six doubles matches.
2018-19 (Freshman) - Singles: 20-12 | Doubles: 15-17
- Sensational start to his collegiate career, he was recognized by opposing BIG EAST coaches as the most outstanding freshman in the league
- Finished with a sparkling 16-6 singles record in the dual season and was 5-1 in BIG EAST play
- Playing primarily at the top spot, he was 11-4 overall at No. 1 singles and 5-2 at No. 2
- Teamed with his older brother Fran to go 15-14 in doubles including 8-4 in the tournament season and 4-2 against conference opponents.
High School:
- Helped club tennis team Mladost Zagreb move up from D2 to D1 in the Croatian Men’s National Club Championships with an 8-0 singles record and 7-1 in doubles
- Advanced to the semifinals of the Croatian Nationals Men’s Doubles Championships in 2017
- Finished second in the U-18 Croatian National Club Championships… made it to the finals of the ITF G5 and round of 16 in the ITF G4
- Advanced to the doubles finals and singles round of 16 in U-16 Croatian National Championships
- Finished with 14-12 singles record in U-18 ITF World Junior Tour (G1-G5 tournaments).
