Alfonso Cerna joined DePaul Athletics in January 2025 as the Assistant Athletics Director for Broadcast Operations and Live Events. Cerna is reponsible for all DePaul-produced broadcasts, while also serving as the liason with the BIG EAST office and various broadcast partners. Cerna also oversees DePaul's in-venue video board operations at Wish Field and McGrath Phillips Arena on DePaul's Lincoln Park campus, while also assisting with creative video projects.

Cerna came to DePaul following nearly two years at his alma mater, Illinois State, most recently as the Director of Redbird Productions. While at Illinois State he oversaw the Redbirds broadcast production, creative video and in-venue productions.

Prior to returning to Illinois State, Cerna spent two years with WQAD News 8 in Quad Cities serving as a digital content producer, and later an award-winning photojournalist and video editor. He also spent time in minor league baseball with the Quad Cities River Bandits as a production assistant.

Cerna graduated from Illinois State in 2020 with a B.S. in journalism.
