Alfonso Cerna joined DePaul Athletics in January 2025 as the Assistant Athletics Director for Broadcast Operations and Live Events. Cerna is reponsible for all DePaul-produced broadcasts, while also serving as the liason with the BIG EAST office and various broadcast partners.

Cerna came to DePaul following nearly two years at his alma mater, Illinois State, most recently as the Director of Redbird Productions. While at Illinois State he oversaw the Redbirds broadcast production, creative video and in-venue videoboards.

Prior to returning to Illinois State, Cerna spent two years with WQAD News 8 in Quad Cities serving as a digital content producer, and later photojournalist and video editor. He also spent a season with the Quad Cities River Bandits as a production assistant.

Cerna graduated from Illinois State in 2020 with a B.S. in journalism.
