Brendan Roth was elevated to associate head coach of DePaul women’s soccer in June 2025 after joining the program as an assistant coach in July 2024. In his first season on staff, Roth played a pivotal role in the Blue Demons’ resurgence, helping guide the team to its best finish in nearly a decade and a run to the BIG EAST Championship semifinals, the program’s first since 2016.
Roth’s tactical insight and energy contributed to a season that defied expectations. Picked to finish last in the BIG EAST preseason poll, DePaul battled through an 0-4-1 start before embarking on a 4-4-1 stretch that included a 1-0 upset of No. 18 Georgetown, the eventual conference champions. The win marked DePaul’s first over a ranked opponent since 2019 and handed Georgetown its only league loss of the year.
In the postseason, Roth helped DePaul earn a dramatic quarterfinal win at Butler, as the Blue Demons converted eight straight penalties to win the program’s first-ever shootout, 8-7. DePaul advanced to the semifinals after holding the Bulldogs to a 2-2 draw in regulation and double overtime.
Roth previously served as an assistant coach and recruiting coordinator for the Loyola Ramblers, helping lead the team to a 7-7-4 record during the 2023 season.
Prior to Loyola, Roth was the director of operations with the Notre Dame women's soccer team. He helped Notre Dame to back-to-back top-four finishes in the ACC, to go along with Elite Eight and Sweet Sixteen appearances.
From 2012 to 2016 and 2017 to 2021, Roth held various coaching positions with his alma mater, Valparaiso. He assisted both the men's and women's teams during his tenure with the Beacons. In between his time with Valparaiso, Roth was the head men's soccer coach at Calumet College of St. Joseph.
Roth played collegiate soccer at Valparaiso and was a five-year member of the team from 2007 to 2011. He played in over 60 matches and finished his career with four goals and two assists.
Roth spent his summers playing for the Carolina Redhawks U23 team, which won the USASA U23 National Cup Championship and the USASA Region III U23 Men's Cup.
