Kyle Callender joined the DePaul athletics department in August 2022 as an Assistant Athletics Director of Development.
In his role, he serves as a member of DePaul’s Development team, which is committed to building strong relationships with the DePaul community, the University’s alumni, and the Blue Demon fan base; all with the hopes of growing support and providing the necessary resources to allow DePaul’s more than 225 student-athletes to pursue excellence in the classroom, in competition, and in the community.
Before arriving at DePaul, Callender had stints at both Eastern Illinois and UT-Arlington. Most recently at UTA, he served in the roles of Assistant Director and the Director of their Maverick Club Annual Fund. His responsibilities included the management of their Maverick Club Annual Fund, premium seating, sport-specific giving, department-wide fundraisers, University day-of-giving campaigns, endowments and their athletic alumni outreach and engagement. In Callender's first year with UTA, he was instrumental in assisting to improve the departments total donor count by 24 percent and its annual fund giving totals by 18 percent.Â
The Illinois native is a two-time graduate from Eastern Illinois, where he earned his Master's degree in Business Administration and Applied Management in 2019 following his undergraduate degree in Management and Organizational Behavior in 2016.Â
Callender was a four-year member and team captain of the EIU men’s soccer program. While competing for the Panthers, he was honored with a Team Academic Award by the National Coaches Association of America and was placed on a Summit League Commissioners List of Academic Excellence multiple times.
