Nathan Johnson joined the DePaul staff in March of 2023 as an assistant director of sports performance. In his current role, he oversees and directs all facets of the sports performance program for the women's basketball team.
Johnson came to Lincoln Park following a stint at James Madison where he assisted in the training for the Dukes football program. While there he orchestrated all programming and training for women's lacrosse, field hockey and men's tennis while also serving as an interim basketball sports performance director during the summer of 2022.
Prior to his time at James Madison, Johnson served as an Assistant Sports Performance Coach at Olmsted Medical Center Sports Medicine and Athletic Performance and the Director of Strength and Conditioning at Triton High School.
Johnson also worked at McNeese State, St. Frederick High School and Neville High School.
Johnson graduated from Louisiana Tech with a B.S. in Kinesiology & Health Promotion before earning his graduate degree in Health & Human Performance from McNeese State. Johnson currently holds certifications from the National Strength and Conditioning Association, United States Weightlifting Association, Functional Range Conditioning, Functional Movement Screening and Certified Basketball Speed Specialist.
