Tom DeVinney joined the DePaul Athletics staff in May 2024, as Associate Athletics Director for NCAA Compliance.

DeVinney comes to DePaul from across town where he most recently worked as the Associate Athletic Director of Student Services and Compliance at Chicago State. While at CSU, DeVinney was responsible for all aspects of the athletic department's compliance. He served as the department's primary ARMS and INFLCR contact, while also serving on the Executive Leadership Team and as a sport supervisor for Chicago State's Cross Country and Track & Field Teams.

Prior to arriving in Chicago, DeVinney worked at Kentucky Wesleyan College for five years, beginning as the Assistant Athletic Director for Compliance before being promoted to Associate Athletic Director for Internal Operations in 2017. He was responsible for compliance operations for all 20 of Kentucky Wesleyan's Division II sports. Following his promotion, DeVinney also added oversight of the Athletic Department budget responsibilities and academic advising.

DeVinney earned his undergraduate degree from Cedarville University, where he earned a B.S. in Sport Management before attending law school at Pepperdine University. He graduated with his J.D. in Spring 2014 and was editor for Pepperdine Law Review. During law school, he completed a variety of internships including NFL Players Association, Pepperdine University Athletics and The College of Saint Rose Athletics Department.

DeVinney resides in Chicago with his wife, Annie, and son, Leo.
