Quentin Richardson helped ignited a basketball renaissance at DePaul throughout his career from 1998-00. Richardson helped lead the Blue Demons to the 1999 National Invitational Tournament and the 2000 NCAA Tournament.Â
From the beginning of his career, Richardson was a standout player. He was the 1999 USBWA National Freshman of the Year after averaging a double-double with 18.9 points and 10.5 rebounds per game. Additionally, he was Conference USA Freshman and Player of the Year. As a sophomore in 1999-00, Richardson tallied 17.0 points, 9.8 rebounds, 2.2 assists and 1.1 steals per game, also earning All-Conference honors.Â
He was the second-fastest player in program history to 1,000 career points, reaching 1,147 in just two seasons. He is tied third in program history for the most career double-doubles with 28 and still ranks top-10 in career scoring average and rebounding average.Â
Richardson entered the 2000 NBA Draft where he was drafted 18th overall by the Los Angeles Clippers. Richardson went on to a 13-year NBA career where he would score of 8,000 career points with 3,666 rebounds and 1,138 assists.Â
