Emmette Bryant

Emette Bryant played for the Blue Demons from 1961-64 where he averaged 14.8 points through 39 career games, including averaging 17.5 points in 1963-64. Bryant led DePaul to NIT appearances in 1963 and 1964 and helped DePaul start the 1963-64 season 13-0.
Bryant was ultimately drafted in the seventh round of the 1964 NBA Draft by the New York Knicks, setting him the path for a successful eight year career in the league. Bryant won the 1969 NBA Championship with the Boston Celtics, becoming the first Blue Demon to win a NBA Championship in the modern era.
Prior to attending DePaul, Bryant served in the U.S. Air Force where he was stationed in Panama. Following his playing career, Bryant served as a member of the executive board of the National Retired Players Association. He was inducted into the Chicagoland Sports Hall of Fame in 2010.
