Kevin Edwards played for DePaul men's basketball for two seasons from 1986-88. He finished his career with an average of 18.3 points per game and 994 points scored in just two seasons. Edwards finished his career ranking first in school-history with a 47.1 career three-point percentage, a mark that remains a program best nearly 40 years later.Â
During his freshman year, Edwards and his teammates finished the season with a 28-3 overall record, reaching the NCAA Sweet Sixteen. Throughout the 1987-88 season the team posted a 22-8 record and reached the second round of the NCAA Tournament.Â
Edwards was drafted as the 20th overall pick of the 1988 NBA Draft by the Miami Heat, where he would play for five seasons. Edwards' 13-year NBA career would take him on stops to the New Jersey Nets, Orlando Magic and Vancouver Grizzlies where he would score 6,596 career points 1.653 career rebounds and 1,609 career assists.Â
Edwards eventually returned to DePaul as the men's basketball Director of Community, Corporate and Professional Relations. He later served as the Blue Demons Director of Alumni Relations.Â
