Ray Adams

Ray Adams was a member of the inaugural DePaul Hall of Fame Class in 1977. Adams played for the Blue Demons from 1933-36 under head coach Jim Kelly. Prior to arriving at DePaul, Adams played for three years at St. Patrick's where he was team captain as a senior while leading his team to win the 1932 National Catholic High School Tournament with his teammate, and fellow Blue Demon great, Ray Meyer.
Following his collegiate career, Adams went on to play for the Oshkosh All-Stars and the Chicago Bruins in the National Basketball League (NBL), which was the precursor for the National Basketball Association (NBA).
Adams went on to serve as a lieutenant in the United States Army during World War II and was head coach of the 1944 Camp Ellis Cardinals football team. Adams was later inducted into the Basketball Musuem of Illinois Hall of Fame in 1985 and passed away on August 26, 1992.
