Senior Night Success: Volleyball Beats Saint Louis In Five

CHICAGO - DePaul rallied from a 2-1 deficit and posted a thrilling 3-2 (16-14, 0-15, 4-15, 15-12, 15-10) win over Saint Louis on Senior Night in a Conference USA matchup at the DePaul Athletic Center on Saturday.
"I am really proud of the players in that they found a win to win the match," DePaul head coach Dawn Dockstader said. "I am also very happy that we could win on Lauren Johnson's Senior Night. Hopefully this will be a good springboard into the conference tournament next week."
The match was DePaul's final regular season home contest of the year and improved its record to 20-11 overall and 10-6 in Conference USA while Saint Louis fell to 11-18 and 5-11.
The Blue Demons were led by junior Kara Jakusz who dished out 57 assists and recorded 17 digs. With her 57 assists, she set a single-season Conference USA record for assists in league matches only with 869.
DePaul also got 17 kills and 25 digs from Stephanie Bishop's while Katie Engel added 15 kills and 17 digs. Christa Dirr chipped in with 13 kills.
Saint Louis was led by Colleen Hunter's 25 kills and 19 digs while Ember Knobeloch added 21 kills.
Both teams will be in action again next week at the annual Conference USA Championships in Charlotte.
