Louisville, Ky. - For the third time in three years the conference tilt between DePaul and Louisville went the distance in Louisville. Unfortunately, DePaul found itself on the losing end for the second consecutive season. The Blue Demons fell 3-2 (15-13, 10-15, 15-9, 7-15, 5-15).
"We had them," said head coach Dawn Dockstader. "We were up 4-0 in the fourth and we needed to take advantage. We had all the momentum and we gave them a crack to get back in and they took advantage of it."
DePaul closed the match with four players who recorded double-digit kills totals. Leading the Blue Demons was Christa Dirr who registered a career high 20 kills with just four errors for a .533 hitting percentage on the night. Stephanie Bishop, Katie Engel and Melissa Nordine added 19, 18 and 11 kills respectively.
"Dirr did a great job of rebounding from the other night. That is how we expect her to play every match, because that's the type of dominating middle she can be. We just need that performance from her every match we play," said Dockstader.
