Cincinnati, Ohio-Cincinnati extended its winning streak against DePaul to 13 matches with a 3-0 (15-10, 15-7, 15-13) win over the Blue Demons. It was the second time this season the Bearcats had swept the Blue Demons.
"We played with no sense of urgency," said head coach Dawn Dockstader. "We knew what was on the line and it's a shame we played the way we did."
DePaul was able to stifle Shauntel Miller, the Bearcats' leading hitter, but Trish Ladusaw and Bonita Wise picked up the slack. The duo combined for 35 kills with Ladusaw producing a match high 21. Ladusaw also was the match digs leader with 18.
The Blue Demons were paced by Stephanie Bishop, who tallied 14 kills and four total blocks, and Kara Jakusz who dished out 49 assists and dug 14 balls. Melissa Nordine was the team's dig leader with 15.
DePaul's record drops to 19-9 (9-5 Conference USA), while Cincinnati improves to 21-6 (13-1 C-USA). The victory clinches at least a share of the American Division title for the Bearcats.
