MEMPHIS, TN -- DePaul had four players with double figure kill totals and used that balance to post a 3-1 (13-15, 15-3, 15-10, 15-11) victory at the Roane Field House on September 23.
DePaul raised its record to 12-3 overall including a perfect 3-0 slate in Conference USA play.
"I am very proud of the team because we didn't have our best match of the season but we hung in there and found a way to get the job done," DePaul head coach Dawn Dockstader said.
The Blue Demons got 21 kills and 15 digs from Katie Engel while Stephanie Bishop added 20 kills and 15 digs. Melissa Nordine posted 18 kills (with a .515 hitting percentage) and 14 digs while Christa Dirr chipped in with 12 kills.
Setter Kara Jakusz continued her hot play with 65 assists, 17 digs and a pair of aces.
Dockstader also praised the play of senior Lauren Johnson who came off the bench and served the Blue Demons back into game one and provided outstanding blocking over the course of the entire match.
DePaul returns home next weekend to entertain Cincinnati (Friday) and Louisville (Saturday) at the DePaul Athletic Center.
