Volleyball Stops Houston In C-USA Tournament

HOUSTON, TEXAS – DePaul had a balanced attack on offense and rallied after losing the first game to beat Houston 3-1 (26-30, 30-25, 30-23, 30-23) in the quarterfinals of the Conference USA Tournament on Friday at Hofheinz Pavilion.
The Blue Demons got 16 kills from Christa Dirr, 15 from Stephanie Bishop, 14 from Melissa Nordine and 11 from Lara Marks to pace the attack. Kara Jakusz dished out 55 assists.
On defense, head coach Dawn Dockstader’s crew had 28 digs from Bishop, 15 from Katie Engel and 11 from Nordine.
DePaul (22-8 overall) will advance to face Cincinnati in the semifinals on Saturday. The match will begin at 3 p.m.
