Blue Demons Defeat East Carolina in Five Games

Greenville, N.C. -- The Blue Demons volleyball team won a thrilling five-game match over East Carolina 30-18, 23-30, 28-30, 30-25, 15-10. DePaul improves to 19-7 on the season and 10-4 in conference play.
Sophomore Lara Marks led the Blue Demons with 14 kills along with two block solos and two block assists. Senior Christa Dirr added 12 kills with two block solos and three block assists while hitting a .500. Senior Melissa Nordine finished with 14 digs and junior Katie Engel added 10 kills and 16 digs.
East Carolina was led by senior Amanda Rudolph who recorded 15 kills and 14 digs. Despite Rudolph's double-double, the Pirates fall to 7-18 on the season and 3-11 in Conference USA.
The Blue Demons continue to battle for the second place in the conference with two road matches next weekend. DePaul faces Houston on Friday and TCU on Saturday. Both matches begin at 7:00 p.m.
