Brown Pushes DePaul Past Fairfield

NEW YORK -- Andre Brown scored 24 points, and DePaul scored its last nine points on free throws to hold off Fairfield 94-90 Saturday and snap a two-game losing streak.
After DePaul (3-3) took an 81-73 lead on a goaltending call, Fairfield (0-5) used a 12-4 run to tie it 85-all with 2:10 left. Deng Gai had six points in the spurt.
Rashon Burno put the Blue Demons ahead for good 87-85 with two free throws with 1:21 left. Sam Hoskin then converted four straight from the line to build the lead to 91-85 with 25 seconds to play.
Tyquawn Goode's jumper drew Fairfield to 93-90, but Brown made one of two free throws with 3.3 seconds left to ice it.
Marlon Brooks added 14 points for DePaul, while Burno has 12 points, eight assists and three steals.
Nick Delfico's 19 points led the Stags, while Sam Spann and Oscar Garcia each added 13.
The Blue Demons played without suspended Imari Sawyer for the second straight game.
