Blue Demons Tangle With Northern Illinois

CHICAGO - With the cancellation of two games over the weekend, the DePaul men's soccer team added Northern Illinois to the schedule for a Tuesday afternoon match. The Blue Demons and Huskies will battled at 4 p.m. in DeKalb. DePaul enters the match at 0-3 while Northern Illinois is 1-3.
Game On
The Blue Demons have not played since losing the overtime match to Detroit on Sept. 9. The Leatherneck Kelme Classic at Western Illinois was cancelled after the recent events in New York, Pennsylvania and Washington, D.C.
A Quick Look at Northern Illinois
The Huskies enter Tuesday's match at 1-3 with the lone victory over Detroit. Northern Illinois has lost to Alabama A&M, Saint Francis and Bradley. Detroit defeated the Blue Demons, 3-2, in overtime while the Huskies won, 1-0, over the Titans.
Peter Agrimson and Bruce Conrad have each scored a goal with an assist to lead the squad. As a team, the Huskies have three scores while allowing nine goals by the opponents.
A year ago, the Blue Demons fell, 6-2, to the Huskies in DeKalb. Northern Illinois leads the all-time series, 12-0-2.
Rearranging the Schedule
With the recent national events, a number of changes have occurred on the 2001 DePaul soccer schedule. DePaul has filled in the two cancelled games at the Leatherneck Kelme Classic with Northern Illinois on Sept. 18 and Western Illinois on Sept. 29.
The match originally scheduled for Sept. 18 at TCU has been moved to Nov. 8 at 3 p.m. The kickoff for the Nov. 4 contest against Charlotte has been moved up to 1 p.m.
Looking Ahead
The Blue Demons play their second Conference USA match of the season on Sunday afternoon at Wish Field. DePaul hosts Louisville with kickoff scheduled for noon. On Sept. 26, DePaul travels to Ft. Wayne to play Indiana-Purdue Ft. Wayne at 7 p.m.
