Luke Rojo Named C-USA Player of the Week

CHICAGO - DePaul sophomore forward Luke Rojo was named the Conference USA Offensive Player of the Week after leading DePaul to wins over Loyola-Chicago and TCU. Rojo shared the weekly honor with Marquette's Matt Darby.
Rojo tallied a pair of game-winners against the Ramblers and Horned Frogs. In the double-overtime win over Loyola last Wednesday, it was Rojo's score at 106:21 that capped the comeback for the Blue Demons. He also assisted Tim Blake's match-tying goal with under three minutes left in regulation. On Saturday, against the Horned Frogs, the sophomore scored the match's first goal at 26:07 and then assisted Ed Kiefer's insurance goal just two minutes later. For the week, Rojo tallied a pair of game-winning goals and two assists. The Downers Grove native, leads DePaul with 17 points on seven goals and three assists. Five of his seven scores this season have been game-winners.
In the latest NSCAA rankings, DePaul was ranked 10th in the Midwest region after their two victories last week. Since starting the season 2-5-2, the Blue Demons have won five of their last six matches. At Wish Field, DePaul is a perfect 5-0-0.
Up next for the Blue Demons is a Wednesday night match at Saint Louis. Kickoff with the 17th-ranked Billikens is set for 7 p.m. at Robert R. Hermann Stadium.
